How should you approach these fears in order to get over them? If it is a situation specific fear, then a gradual introduction would be recommended. For example, claustrophobia could be overcome if the person with the fear goes into a familiar and safe surrounding that is relatively small; gradually going into smaller places until they are fully happy with small places.
The fear of driving in general is common, so you must first understand why you have this fear, and then think about how irrational that fear is. Millions of people drive every day, without a single incident. Crashes that occur are often minor, hence are not a big problem. Motorway or freeway driving is seen as a little more dangerous, with crashes having more fatalities. But, the best you can do is to drive safely, minimizing the risk of any problems. Hundreds of millions of people will get on a freeway every day without any problems.
